| Welcome to Atmospheric Aerosols & Health (AAH), a UC TSR&TP lead campus training grant for graduate student research and education. With AAH, students enrolled in any of the graduate programs at UC Davis and UC Merced can broaden their education and opportunities in the field of Air Quality.
This training grant is open to any incoming or continuing graduate student whose research will involve any aspect of science, engineering, or policy related to air quality. Students must apply to, or currently be enrolled in, a graduate program at UC Davis or UC Merced in order to apply for AAH funding.

Atmospheric aerosols – the complex mixture of particles and pollutant gases in our air – are responsible for the deaths of thousands of Californians each year. In fact, most Californians live in areas that do not meet one or more of the state air quality standards. Understanding the reasons why our air is toxic, and the policies we can pursue to reduce air pollution, are the goals behind this new training grant on Atmospheric Aerosols & Health (AAH). This TSR&TP Lead Campus program is a joint venture between UC Davis and UC Merced.
The goal of the program is to transform air quality graduate education on these campuses by integrating policy, engineering, and science. This program is open to all UC Davis and UC Merced graduate students who are interested in learning more about air pollution and its links to health, science, and policy. This includes (but is not limited to) students in social sciences and policy, biological and physical sciences, and engineering. Students will receive their graduate degrees through their graduate groups at
UC Davis or UC Merced. The contribution of the Atmospheric Aerosols & Health program will be to expose students to the complexity and breadth of air quality problems and research, through coursework and special seminars. In addition, the AAH program will provide financial support for participating students as described under the "Funding" link.
