| The deadline for Fall 2008 has passed. We will begin accepting applications for Fall 2009 next September.
A complete application consists of the following items:
1. Application
2. Research Essay
3. Personal Statement
4. Faculty Mentor Letter of Support (Instructions for the faculty letter can be found on the application.)
Items 1-3 are a part of the online application. The faculty mentor letter of support should come directly from the faculty mentor via e-mail (preferred), mail or fax. As described in the application, new students that have not yet identified a mentor do not need a letter of support. Any mailed items should be sent directly to the AAH main office.
**Please note that AAH is not a degree granting program, interested students also must apply to or be currently enrolled in a graduate program at UC Davis or UC Merced.

Can Master's students apply for funding?
Master's students in Community Development and International Agricultural Development are eligible for a maximum funding of $12,500 per year. All other Master's students can apply to be Affiliated Students (see definition of Affiliated students below.)
What is the difference between an "Affiliated Student" and a "Supported Student"?
Supported Students will receive full funding from AAH (salary, tuition, fees, research money, and travel money), while Affiliated Students will be eligible for travel funding. In addition, Affiliated Students are not required to take the capstone course.
I am a continuing graduate student that is already well along on my research. Am I eligible to apply?
All graduate students are welcome to apply to the training grant. However, preference will be given to incoming students and students early in their graduate career.
What is TSR&TP?
TSR&TP stands for the "UC Toxic Substances Research and Teaching Program", which is the state-supported funding agency that made the AAH program possible. More information on TSR&TP can be found at their website: http://tsrtp.ucdavis.edu
Are students who require Non-Resident tuition eligible to apply?
Yes.
Are international students eligible to apply?
Yes.
I study policy. Should I be worried about the science aspect of the program?
No, students will work with the AAH directors in order to design a personalized program where the breadth of coursework will increase knowledge but not overwhelm those students who are being introduced to the topics for the first time.
I'm not sure if my research topic will qualify as related to "Air Quality". Who can I ask to make sure?
The AAH Director, Cort Anastasio, at canastasio@ucdavis.edu
