Types of Support: Funding Details for Supported Students Students accepted as Supported Students for the AAH training grant will be financially supported for up to two years. For Ph.D. students, this support will include an annual salary of up to $25,000 (either as a Graduate Student Researcher (GSR) or through a combination of GSR and other monies), payment of resident tuition and fees, $500 for research expenses, and $500 to pay for the travel costs for attending scientific meetings. For Masters Students from Community Development or International Agricultural Development, this support will include an annual salary of up to $12,500 (either as a Graduate Student Researcher (GSR) or through a combination of GSR and other monies), payment of resident tuition and fees, $500 for research expenses, and $500 to pay for the travel costs for attending scientific meetings. There is also a limited amount of UCD/UCM matching funds to pay for non-resident tuition and fees for supported students. Funding Details for Affiliated Students Students who do not receive salary support participate in the program activities and are provided with $500 for research expenses, and $500 for travel costs for attending scientific meetings. Note that Affiliated Ph.D. students can apply for full financial support in future years. All awards are to the individual student for one (1) year’s duration, renewable for another (1) year. Funding years run September 1 - August 31. |
Travel and Research funds are available for current Affiliated and Supported AAH Students. Students can apply for one travel award and one research award during each academic (September - August) year. Requests must be submitted and approved BEFORE they are spent. Retroactive requests WILL NOT be approved. The maximum dollar amount for each award is $500 To apply for the award, fill out and submit the on-line form, making sure to attach the required supplemental materials. |
