Requirements
To successfully complete the AAH program students must fulfill the following six AAH requirements. Students must also remain in good academic standing and maintain eligibility as defined by that student's home campus office of graduate studies

(1) Fall Intensive Course: Students complete a 3-4 day intensive introductory 1 unit course that is held off campus during the late summer or early fall. The 2007 course will be held in the Sierra-Nevada mountains from October 4th - 8th. Costs for the course are covered by the program. During the intensive course students are introduced to the breadth of air quality and health issues and research via guest lecturers, poster sessions and group presentations. Team-building adventures and socializing are also integrated into the trip in order to provide everyone the chance to get to know each other and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

(2) Breadth Courses: To obtain sufficient breadth in air quality studies, the student’s program of study must contain a few air quality courses that cover the different approaches and processes involved in air quality research.

(3) Air Quality Policy in the Real Word two course sequence (ATM 280A and 280B): In this two-quarter sequence (winter-spring) students team up with a mentor from government or industry to tackle a real-world air quality problem. The focus of the course is a project completed by diverse student groups (consisting of members with engineering, science and policy backgrounds) working with a mentor who will draw upon his or her work experiences to provide problems for the student groups. The goal of each group is to synthesize a multidisciplinary “solution” to their air quality problem that takes into account the state of scientific understanding, policy objectives, political constraints, and other factors pertinent to decision making.
(4) Attend the TSR&TP Annual Symposium each year while in the program. Transportation, meals and lodging are covered by the program.
(5) Participate in occasional interdisciplinary seminars selected by the program.
(6) Participate in other, occasional events sponsored by the AAH program.
(7) Acknowledge TSR&TP and AAH on all related posters, presentations, and publications.

Guideline text for acknowledgment in publications and posters: "Support for this research was provided by the University of California Toxic Substances Research and Teaching Program (TSR&TP) through the Atmospheric Aerosols and Health Lead Campus Program (aah.ucdavis.edu)."
